My Work With The Yeti...
On this page are a sampling of the articles I have written for The Yeti. At the Yeti, we try to cover local views and happenings from the student perspective. I have had the pleasure of attending charity events, experiencing FSU's many clubs and groups, and investigating some of the most important issues on students' minds.
Shed No Tears
This was one of the most powerful events I have attended for The Yeti. Shed No Tears was a film (created by FSU alum Kaitlyn Summerill) which dealt with the issue of child trafficking in West Africa. Summerill traveled to a small African country called Benin, where she was able to speak with victims about the horrifying experience of being little more than a slave. Sumerill and her group, Unseen Stories, plan to travel around the U.S. to raise money to keep these at-risk children in school and out of the hands of those who might harm them. It was truly an honor to speak with her ans learn about the cause she has worked so hard to promote.

Breast Cancer Awareness
Breast cancer is a disease that has affected too many women around the world. While it's wonderful that we dedicate a whole month to remembering those who have fought it, some companies take advantage of Breast Cancer Awareness Month in the marketing of their products. In this piece, I tried to determine which products could actually be trusted to donate to Breast Cancer charities. This piece was featured on The Yeti's website.

Dagorhir
This was an incredibly fun piece to write. Dagorhir is a game in which players perform realistic battles with foam-padded weapons. Tallahassee's Dagorhir group, which meets on Florida State's campus every Saturday afternoon, is a spunky and adventurous group of people who always welcome newcomers to their game. Although Dagorhir is one of Tallahassee's lesser-known activities, it was truly a blast. I encourage anyone who finds this piece intriguing to go out and try it some time!
