Inside the Mind of Casey Jerez

About Me...

Picture
My name is Casey Jerez. I am a Senior at Florida State University. My major is English with a concentration in Editing, Writing, and Media.
My family and I knew that writing would become a big part of my future from the time I was a little girl. I remember very clearly feeling elated when my Talented and Gifted program studied short stories in elementary school. Even at a young age, nothing brought me more joy than to bring a pen to paper and create something of my own.
In middle school, my writing expanded to poetry and essays for my classes. I found that writing was a great way to express my feelings and ideas about the world around me. This feeling carried on through high school, when I began to realize that my love for writing had the potential to blossom into a possible career.
Now, I enjoy writing in many genres and styles. As a contributing writer for The Yeti, one of Florida State's campus publications, I have had the opportunity to cover a variety local events in Tallahassee. I have contributed opinion pieces to The Yeti's online website (
www.theyetionline.com) as well as my own personal blog. I have also dedicated much time to pieces for classes, striving for excellence no matter what the challenge may be.
In short, writing never feels like work to me. It is something I have always loved to do, and whether it's for work or play, it's a pastime I will always cherish. I strive to put a little bit of myself into every piece that I write. I hope you enjoy reading my work, and please feel free to e-mail any comments or questions using the form below.
    Thank you!
